NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Juniors Bridget Casey and Emma Reaney and senior Kelly Ryan of the University of Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving team are set to compete at the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships this week (June 25-29) in Indianapolis, Ind. The long course meet will double as the U.S. trials for the upcoming world championships, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain from July 19 – August 4.
Casey qualified in the 200 fly (2:14.91), Reaney is set to swim in the 200 IM (2:14.79) and 100 breast (1:09.90) and Ryan will swim in the 200 back (2:12.68), 50 back (1:02.52) and 100 back (1:02.52). All three are seeded in the top 35, with Reaney and Ryan earning two top-20 seeds each.

The trio is coming off a fabulous 2012-13 season where they helped the Irish to an historic year. Notre Dame claimed 16th at the NCAA Championships with 55 points. The finish was the highest in school history, while the point total was second.
Reaney earned two All-America and two Honorable Mention All-America citations, while Ryan earned two Honorable Mention All-America scrolls. Casey took 30th in the 200 fly.
The 2013-14 schedule should be released by the end of the summer with the season set to kickoff in mid-October.
