Three Earn At-Large Bids For NCAA Tournament

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Just one day after punching their ticket to the NCAA team tournament, three members of the Notre Dame men’s tennis team have secured at large bids to the NCAA singles and doubles competition, May 20-25, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. 

Senior Alex Lebedev, who ranked No. 31 in singles notched his spot in the championship tournament, posting a 15-9 record through the 2018-19 season. Joining him in Orlando will be Irish pair Richard Ciamarra and Tristan McCormick competing in doubles competition. The duo who rank No. 24 in doubles went 12-5 while playing together, including three wins over top-50 ranked pairs. 

Prior to their run at the NCAA Tournament, the team will look to qualify for their own chance to play at the USTA National Campus for the NCAA Championships in two weeks. In the meantime, they will face No. 38 Vanderbilt in the first round of the team tournament with a second round match against No. 1 Ohio State or Cleveland State on the line.
