Three Current Irish Invited To Team USA Tryout

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Sophomore Madison Ahern, senior Andie Aldave and senior Maddie Howe have been invited to the official tryout for the U.S. team that will represent the country in the 2021 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship.

2019 graduate and former Irish All-American Samantha Giacolone is also invited to the tryout, which will be held at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, from Dec. 4-6, 2020

The world championship will be hosted by US Lacrosse from July 7-17 at Towson University in Towson, Maryland, marking the first time the event has been held in the United States since 2005. A record 30 nations are expected to compete in the 2021 championship.

  • Started all seven games for the Irish as a freshman in 2020
  • Led Notre Dame in points (27) and assists (11) while netting 16 goals in 2020
  • Collected a team-high five points (3G, 2A) in Notre Dame’s 17-15 victory at #3 Northwestern (Feb. 14)
  • Scored multiple goals in all seven contests, including three straight hat tricks to open her college career

  • Competed on the 2015 U.S. U19 Women’s Lacrosse Team as the youngest member of the team
