SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Ten Notre Dame hockey alums have made National Hockey League Opening Night rosters ahead of the 2021-22 season, which begins tonight (Oct. 12) by featuring games between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Tampa Bay Lighting as well as the Seattle Kraken versus the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Fighting Irish could have a presence on both games, which will be televised by ESPN, as Bryan Rust enters his ninth season with the Penguins and Riley Sheahan joins the Kraken for their initial season.
