Syracuse Kickoff Luncheon/Pep Rally Coverage

Nov. 15, 2005

For the final time this season, www.und.com will offer live audio and video coverage of the Notre Dame Live Kickoff Luncheon and the Navy Football Pep Rally to subscribers of Fighting Irish All-Access. The Notre Dame Sports Information Office and CSTV Online have been working toward improving the Fighting Irish All-Access product and offering the luncheon and pep rally is just a first step in expanding Notre Dame’s audio and video offerings on www.und.com.

For a complete list of all audio/video offerings on www.und.com, click here.

Links for both broadcasts will be available on Friday.

The Notre Dame Live Kickoff Luncheon is hosted by Bob Nagle and features a special guest (Father Theodore Hesburgh, John Huarte, ESPN’s Chris Fowler and NBC’s Lewis Johnson, are just a few of the guests from this season), two Irish players which rotate on a weekly basis and an interview with head coach Charlie Weis. The luncheon begins at 12:00 noon, but the actual speakers and event does not begin until after the food is served (approximately 12:30 p.m.).

The football pep rallies are held in the Joyce Center. The event begins at 6:00 p.m., with the Irish football team entering the Joyce Center at 6:30 p.m. Over 45,000 fans packed Notre Dame Stadium for the USC pep rally and each weekend’s event has become one of the hottest tickets on campus each weekend (check www.und.com throughout the week for updated information on the ticket distribution time).

The pep rallies typically feature a guest speaker (this season Joe Montana, Chris Zorich, Tim Brown, John Huarte, Mark Bavaro, ESPN’s Dick Vitale and Tino Martinez from the New York Yankess have made appearances) along with speeches from several different Irish players and head coach Charlie Weis.
