GREENSBORO, N.C. — Following an NCAA-best time of 15:17.10 in the 1650 free this past week at Georgia Tech, sophomore Zach Yeadon has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s male swimmer of the week. Competing in Atlanta last Saturday, Yeadon finished first in all three of his events, edging the Irish past ACC foe, Georgia Tech 132-130.
Following his NCAA leading 1650 free swim, the sophomore turned around to compete in the very next event, finishing first again with a 200 free time of 1:37.37. He led the team in first place finishes, recording three of the Irish men’s seven total. Yeadon also dominated the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:26.70, to lead the Irish sweep of that race.
In two years with the Irish, Yeadon has earned ACC Swimmer of the Week honors three times, including October 10, 2017 and January 30, 2018.
