Irish Conclude Season With All-American Honor

AUSTIN, Texas — On the final day of their season, the University of Notre Dame men’s swim team featured four swimmers competing at the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships and an All-American Honorable Mention.

Josh Bottelberghe swam first for the Irish, touching the wall in 1:56.25 of the 200 breast.

Two men represented Notre Dame in the 200 fly shortly after as Marci Barta and Aaron Schultz concluded their run at the championship meet. Schultz finished first between the two, recording a time of 1:44 flat before Barta touched in 1:45.63.

Zach Yeadon finished the evening with a 13th place finish in the 1650 free, earning All-American Honorable Mention honors for the second time of the weekend.

“It was an incredibly tough field in the 1650 tonight,” head coach Mike Litzinger said. “Zach showed some great patience and improved on his Atlantic Coast Conference swim. He knows there is more ahead of him and we will continue to work for it.”
