NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Students from the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s College and Holy Cross College who want to get a preview of the 2008 Notre Dame football team are invited to attend Student Appreciation Night on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 8 p.m. inside Notre Dame Stadium.

Head coach Charlie Weis will lead the Fighting Irish through a two-hour practice, weather permitting, in the team’s final appearance in Notre Dame Stadium prior to the season opener versus San Diego State.

All students must show their valid student ID to be admitted to the free event. Only Gate E will be operational and will open at 7:30 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis on the west side of the field in the lower bowl. Ushers will be stationed at Gate E and will strictly admit only students from Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s and Holy Cross.

Stadium concession stands will not be open but restrooms will be open in the lower bowl of Notre Dame Stadium.

Autographs and/or photos with the players or coaches will not be available prior to, during or following practice. If weather forces the team to practice inside, the event will not be rescheduled.
