Straub and Brady Qualify for NCAA Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — After three days at the Zone C Championships, the Irish had two divers punch their tickets to the NCAA Championships. Graduate student Kelly Straub (3-meter and 1-meter) and freshman Calie Brady (1-meter) both qualified for the national meet after their performances in Ann Arbor.

Straub and Brady both finished in the Top-9 in the 1-meter diving to earn automatic qualification for NCAA’s. Straub placed third in the finals with a combined score 589.55 and Brady finished ninth with a combined score of 556.45. This will be the second-straight season that Straub has qualified for the NCAA Championships and Brady earns a spot in her first collegiate season.

Straub followed up the opening day performance in the 1-meter with a qualifying score in the 3-meter on Tuesday. She made it to the finals portion of the event and placed fifth with a combined score 635.10 for her second NCAA event qualification. This will be her second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship as she was an Honorable Mention All-American in the 3-meter and also competed in the 1-meter and platform events in 2021.

Senior Annie Wiese made the finals in the 1-meter and finished 18th overall with a 534.50. She finished 17th in the 3-meter with a 278.95. Brady placed 27th in the 3-meter (258.95) and Samantha Gillis finished 35th (239.50).

Straub was the lone Irish to compete in the platform event and she qualified for her third finals of the Zone C Championships. She placed 13th overall with a 456.45.
