Associate Athletic Trainer; Volleyball, Men's/Women's Fencing
Chantal Porter is an Associate Athletic Trainer that oversees the Irish Olympic Sports while assisting with the Joyce Center Athletic Training Facility. Porter has been a part of the Irish Sports Medicine Staff since 1996. She is primarily responsible for Irish Volleyball and Men’s and Women’s Fencing. Since her tenure at Notre Dame , Porter has worked with Notre Dale Softball, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Tennis and the Irish Swim and Dive Teams.
A 1994 graduate of Iowa State University, Porter received her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance. While at ISU, Porter worked with the Cyclone’s football, wrestling and Women’s Gymnastics programs. Porter then enrolled at Old Dominion University and earned her Masters of Science in Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training. At ODU she served as a graduate athletic trainer, working with the Monarch’s Women’s’ Lacrosse and Women’s Basketball teams. She also worked for the USTA traveling on their satellite tours.
A native of Altoona, Iowa, Porter married Aaron Michael Frucci of Niles, MI in July 2007. The couple lives in South Bend with Aaron’s son, Vincent.
