AS A SENIOR (2022-23)

• Finished 16th in the nation in the shot put at NCAAs (19.11M)
• Took ninth at NCAA Regionals in the shot put (18.94M)
• Won the shot put at outdoor ACCs (19.41M), also took seventh in the hammer throw with a personal best 61.43M
• Secured the indoor school record in the shot put at the Alex Wilson Invitational with a throw of 20.05m
• Notched a personal best in the weight throw at the Notre Dame Invitational (20.49M), finishing second overall
• Earned first place on nine occasions over the course of both the Indoor and Outdoor seasons

AS A JUNIOR (2021-22)

• Won Outdoor ACC Championship in the shot put with a throw of 19.80
• Finished fifth at Indoor ACCs in shot put (18.88M) and eighth in the weight throw (20.43M)
• Won seven of his first eight events (both shot put and weight throw) to start the season
• Posted a PR in the discus (50.72M) at the Indiana Invitational. Won the shot put (18.90M)

AS A SOPHOMORE (2020-21)

• Finished 22nd overall at NCAAs in the shot put (17.35M)
• Notched a ninth place finish in the shot put at NCAA Regionals (18.91M)
• Competed in three events at Outdoor ACCs — shot put (finished ninth with 17.79M), discus (finished 13th with 50.58M) and hammer throw (finished 16th with 53.67M)
• Earned his first dual meet victory in the shot put at the Bob Harris Open (18.09M)

AS A FRESHMAN (2019-20)

• Finished seventh in the shot put (17.30M) and 12th in the weight throw (17.03M) at Indoor ACCs
• Recorded a second place finish in the weight throw at the Notre Dame Invitational (16.93M), his highest finish during his rookie season

PREP AND PERSONAL

• Graduated from Rocky River in spring of 2019
• Participated in football and track and field
• As a junior won state championships in indoor and outdoor shot put and placed second in discus
• As a senior, repeated with an indoor shot put state championship
• Set a weight throw record (66-10) in the Emerging Elite event at the 2018 New Balance Indoor National Championships to win the title
• Named a high school All-American
• Son of Mick and Lisa Shoaf
• Has a younger sister, Madie
• Graduated from Notre Dame in 2023 with a degree in business analytics 
• Pursuing a Masters of Science in Finance from the Mendoza School of Business
