Connor Shields 2019-20 Track and Field Roster

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Won his first collegiate race in the 800m with a time of 1:55.13 at the Blue & Gold Invitational

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated from Warwick in June 2019
• Competed in soccer, basketball, track and cross country in high school
• Was a state medalist as a senior in both cross country and the indoor mile
• Broke Warwick’s 52-year-old mile record
• Helped lead cross country and track teams to Lancaster-Lebanon League Championships
• Is an Eagle Scout
• Member of the Interact Club and the National Honor Society
• Recipient of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship
• Son of Tom and Melonni Shields, both of whom attended Notre Dame
• Dad Tom was a student-athlete on the Irish baseball team
• Has two older sisters, Kelsey and Sam, and an older brother, Derrick
• Sister Sam competes on the cross country/track and field team at Pittsburgh
• Intends to study computer science
