AS A SENIOR: Competed in a total of 10 meets during the indoor and outdoor track seasons … started the season with a win in the 4x400m relay (3:47.42) and a fourth place finish in the 400m (58.56) at the Blue & Gold Invitational … season-best time in the 200m came at the Notre Dame Invitational (26.32) … placed fourth in the 200m (27.01) and fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.18) at the Alex Wilson Invitational … placed 11th in the 400m hurdles at the Yellow Jacket Invitational (1:01.88) … ended the season by taking 15th place in the prelims of the 400m hurdles at the ACC Outdoor Championships (1:03.04) … named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
AS A JUNIOR: Kicked off the season with a 12th place finish in the 200m at the Blue & Gold Invitational (26.37) … also placed 11th in the 400m (58.87) and eighth with the ‘B’ 4x400m relay (4:05.39) … placed 15th in the 200m (25.93), 12th in the 400m (58.27) and sixth in the 4x400m relay (3:54.40) at the Notre Dame Invitational … placed 73rd in the 400m dash at the Meyo Invitational (1:00.71) … placed 11th in the 200m at the Alex Wilson Invitational (26.49) … also placed 14th in the 400m dash (58.35) … finished fourth in the 400m hurdles at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (1:02.25) … also placed fifth in the 4x400m relay (3:55.97) … raced to a first place finish in the 400m championship at the Gina Relays (1:03.51) … jumped to a 12th place finish in the 400m hurdles at the Jesse Owens Track Classic (1:03.91).
AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in two meets during the indoor/outdoor track & field seasons … began the season with a seventh place finish in the 400m dash (59.20) at the Blue & Gold Invitational … lone outdoor competition was a sixth place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:06.65) at the Border Battle.
AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in nine meets for the Irish … ran the 400m hurdles at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships … season-best time in the 400m hurdles came at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays (1:02.76) … finished in sixth place … placed fourth in the 400m hurdles and helped the 4x400m relay team finish third at the 2013 Polytan Invitational … placed fifth in the 500m and helped the 4x400m relay team place fourth at the Notre Dame Invitational.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Graduated from St. Joseph’s High School (South Bend, Indiana) in the spring of 2012 … six-time letterwinner in cross country and track … earned all-state honors by placing third in the 300m hurdles and eighth in the 4x100m relay junior year… four-time state qualifier … named first team all-conference (2011, 2012) … broke school record in the 300m hurdles (2011) and participated in the Midwest Meet of Champions in the 4x200m relay (2012) … awarded most valuable sprints and hurdles award (2011, 2012) … earned MVP freshman year … competes with sister, Amanda, at Notre Dame … full name is Mikaila May Chamblee … born in South Bend, Indiana … daughter of Alan and Myra Chamblee… has an older sister and older brother … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business and majoring in marketing.
