AS A SENIOR: Competed in four indoor track & field meets … placed third in the pole vault at the Blue & Gold Invitational (3.40m) … took fourth place in the pole vault at the Wisconsin-Notre Dame Dual (3.38m) … earned 11th place in the pole vault at the Notre Dame Invitational (3.50m) … finished the season with a seventh place performance in the pole vault at the Alex Wilson Invitational (3.50m) … did not compete during the outdoor track season … named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

AS A JUNIOR: Competed in three meets during the indoor and outdoor seasons … earned an 11th place finish in pole vault at the Notre Dame Invitational (3.55m) … placed 29th in pole vault at the Meyo Invitational (3.46m) … snagged a 10th place finish in pole vault at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (3.55m).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed exclusively in the pole vault during the indoor/outdoor track & field seasons … opened with a second place finish (3.45m) at the Blue & Gold Invitational … vaulted way to a 12th place finish (3.45m) at the Indiana Relays … concluded season with a season-best vault (3.55m) in a sixth place finish in the preliminaries at the Hillsdale College Relays. 



AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in six meets for the Irish during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons … specialized in the pole vault … placed seventh and achieved personal-best in the pole vault (3.57m) at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational … kicked off the indoor season at the Blue & Gold Invitational with a ninth place finish in the pole vault (3.25m) … also competed at the Notre Dame Invitational, Meyo Invitational, Polytan Invitational and the Hillsdale College GINA Relays. 



PREP AND PERSONAL: Graduated from Grand Rapids West Catholic in the spring of 2012 … coached by Jim Morrissey, Rick Pindar and Dave Abanas … track captain as a senior … lettered in track and field, golf and cross country … also played basketball … a member of National Honor Society … served as secretary of school’s Students for Life Club … earned OK Blue All-Conferences honors four times … born in South Bend, Ind. to Matthew and Lisa Schichtel … has an older brother, Matt, a younger brother, Jack, and a younger sister, Maggie … double major … enrolled in the College of Science as a science pre-professional major and in the College of Arts & Letters as an anthropology major.
