AS A SENIOR: Competed in six meets during the cross country season … kicked off the year with a fourth-place finish at the National Catholic Championship 5K (17:44.55) … finished 64th of 165 runners at the Notre Dame Invitational 5K (17:14.1) … ran to a strong 38th-place finish at the ACC Championships 6K (21:19.7) … placed 48th of 219 runners at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional 6K (21:11) … competed at the NCAA Championships 6K …earned a cross country monogram … kicked off the track season at the Notre Dame Invitational in the 3,000 meters by placing seventh (9:51.70) … finished 18th in the mile at the Razorback Invitational (4:59.00) … finished 20th in the 3,000 meters at the Meyo Invitational (9:47.29)… snagged a 12th-place finish in the mile at the Spire DI Invitational (4:50.88) … earned a sixth-place finish in the 3,000 meter at the Alex Wilson Invitational (9:41.19) … finished 26th in the mile prelims at the ACC Indoor Championships (5:03.01) … finished ninth in the 1,500 meters at the Stanford Invitational (4:45.37) … earned a track monogram.

AS A JUNIOR:Competed in four meets during the cross country season … placed third out of 33 runners in the Crusader Invitational 5K (18:10.8) … placed 52nd out of 91 runners in the National Catholic Championship 5K (19:19.3) … finished 36th out of 110 runners in the JV Notre Dame Invitational 5K (19:29.4) … finished 99th out of 140 runners in the ACC Championship 6K (22:43.4) … competed in eight meets during the indoor track & field season … competed in two events at the Meyo Invitational: finished 24th of 35 runners in the 1000M run (2:57.62) while also placing 15th of 48 runners in the one mile run (5:01.27) … represented the Irish at the ACC Indoor Championships, placing 22nd of 27 runners in the 3000m run (10:05.13) … competed in four meets during the outdoor track & field season … represented the Irish in two events at the ACC Outdoor Championships: placed 26th of 41 runners in the preliminary 1500m run (4:37.95) while also finishing 36th of 45 runners in the 5000m run (17:37.98).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in one meet during the cross country season … ran for the Irish at the season-opening Crusader Invitational (5K) … ran in nine meets during the indoor & outdoor seasons … specialized in the 1,500m run … placed seventh at the GVSU Second to Last Chance Meet … competed at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships … ran the 800m at the Louisville Border Battle … placed eighth in the 1,500m at the Notre Dame Invitational.

AS A FRESHMAN: Did not compete during the cross country or track & field seasons … named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Karen Kathleen Lesiewicz graduated from Schaumburg High School in the spring of 2011 … lettered four times in cross country and four times in track & field, running mid-distance on the track … in cross country, earned three all-conference tallies, two all-region honors and one all-state accolade … named team MVP and captain as a senior … stellar junior season on the track saw a conference, sectional and state championship, and all-conference and all-state marks … was selected as team captain and team MVP as a junior … also earned all-state honors as a sophomore on the track … best times include 16:55 in the three miles, 10:47 in the 3,200 meters, 4:54 in the 1,600 meters and 2:13 in the 800 meters … ran a leg of state championship 4x800m-meter relay team … time of 9:06 set a school record … cross country team won IHSA state championship in 2010 … 4:54 in the 1,600 was a school record and won state championship … also a member of the Drama Club and improv team … participated in vacation bible school and was a YMCA camp counselor … was an academic scholar and a member of the Thespian Society … received the Foreign Language award … born to Thomas and Kathy Lesiewicz in Schaumburg, Ill. … has three older brothers, Brian, Tim and Patrick … brothers, Brian and Tim, both ran cross country and track & field at North Central College … brother, Patrick, recently transferred to Notre Dame from North Central College to run cross country and track & field … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business and is majoring in marketing.
