AS A JUNIOR (2015): With the compliation of his junior campaign, Kavanagh ranks fifth on Notre Dame’s list of all-time point earners (175) … a Tewaaraton Award finalist … First Team USILA All-American … All-ACC Team …  became one of six players in Notre Dame history to score 100-plus points … Kavanagh topped the team in scoring for the second consecutive season with 27 goals and a team-leading 25 assists for 52 points … registered five hat tricks … secured a season-high four goals against Denver, North Carolina and Army … recorded three or more points in 10 of 15 games … picked up 39 ground balls … posted a season-high seven points (two goals; five assists) in a 20-5 win over Dartmouth (February 28) … surpassed the five-point mark on the road vs. Michigan, earning six points on three goals and three assists (February 21) … dropped four goals with a pair of assists against Denver (March 7) … again contributed four goals, this time in a thrilling 15-14 victory over North Carolina in the regular season finale (April 18) … totaled two points in Notre Dame’s three-game run in to the NCAA semifinal (one goal; one assist) … earned his third monogram.

AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Produced a stellar rookie campaign as he led the Irish in goals (32) and assists (16) … the 32 goals were the most ever for a Notre Dame freshman … started all 16 games … earned honorable mention All-America honors from the USILA … first team all-BIG EAST … appeared on the Tewaaraton Award watch list … 11 multiple-goal games, including three four-goal efforts … 25 ground balls … had quite the debut as he tallied four goals and one assist in the 13-5 season-opening win at Duke … was named the Cascade National Rookie of the Week for his performance versus the Blue Devils … scored the overtime game winner in the 10-9 triumph at Penn State … in the next contest against North Carolina, he scored with 11 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and then netted the game winner in the third overtime period in the 10-9 Irish victory … finished with four goals and two assists against the Tar Heels en route to being selected as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week … started a season-best nine-game goal streak with a goal in the 13-12 overtime win at Denver … assisted on the goal that forced overtime against the Pioneers … two goals and two assists in the 9-4 victory over Ohio State … found the back of the net twice in a 7-6 win at Rutgers … compiled two-goals and two assists in back-to-back games against St. John’s and Marquette … one goal in the 13-8 victory at Providence … registered two goals and an assist in a 10-8 besting of Georgetown … scored two goals and assisted on two others in a 13-9 win over Villanova … two goals in a 10-4 setback to Syracuse at the Big City Classic … all four of his goals in the 9-7 win over Detroit in the first round of the NCAA Championship occurred in the second half, including three in the fourth quarter … six points on three goals and a season-high three assists in the 12-11 setback to Duke in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship … picked up a season-high four ground balls against both Detroit and Duke … earned a monogram.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Ranked as the top post-graduate recruit for the class of 2012 by Inside Lacrosse … won gold medal with Team USA at the 2012 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Under-19 World Championships in Turku, Finland during the summer of 2012 … was named tournament MVP and most outstanding attackman at the U-19 world championships in addition to being on the all-tournament team … lead Team USA with 20 goals, in addition to 11 assists, at the U-19 tournament … Under Armour Underclassman All-American … spent a post-graduate year at Hotchkiss … team MVP at Chaminade during his senior campaign … led Chaminade in scoring during his junior and senior seasons … attackman of the year in New England West 1 … Newsday First Team All-Long Island … MSG Varsity First Team All-Tri State … Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Attackman of the Year as a senior in addition to earning CHSAA all-league honors as a junior and senior … played Junior A hockey for NY Applecore in the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) … son of Kevin and Mary Kavanagh … has four brothers (Kevin, Brendan, Patrick and Christopher) and one sister (Colleen) … enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters as a film, television and theatre major.
