AS A JUNIOR (2022-23)

  • Opened the season on a four-game point streak, registering three goals and three assists
  • Registered four multi-point games, including three points in the team’s 5-0 win over Michigan State (Oct. 28), tying a career-high
  • Set a career-best on-ice rating of plus-three in the win against Michigan State (Oct. 28)
  • Scored the game-winning tally in the third period at Penn State, a powerplay goal (Jan. 20)

AS A SOPHOMORE (2021-22)

  • Began season with a then career-long four-game point streak (Oct. 9-21; 1-3-4).
  • Tallied first goal of the season in 5-2 win at Northern Michigan (Oct. 16). 
  • Added a third period goal en route to 4-1 home victory over Holy Cross (Nov. 5).
  • Notched first multipoint game of the season with two assists in the 5-1 win over Wisconsin (Nov. 12). 
  • Earned first career multi-goal game with two in an overtime win over then-No. 1 Michigan as the first came at 13:44 in the third period to tie the game and the later came as the overtime game winner – the first of his career.
  • Tallied back-to-back games with a goal and an assist in a weekend series versus Ohio State (Dec. 3-4) with game two of the series marking his career-long point streak at seven games. 
  • Recorded first career hat trick with three goals in an 8-2 home win over Boston College (Jan. 19). 
  • Notched his third-career multi-assist game of his career with two as part of the 7-2 Notre Dame win over Penn State (Feb. 4).
  • Tallied a goal at Wisconsin (Feb. 12) to extend point streak to three games (Feb. 4-12; 1-3-4).
  • Added an assist in each of the first two games of the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals (Mar. 4-5).

AS A FRESHMAN (2020-21)

  • Played in 28 games while scoring a goal and adding four assists for five points.
  • Finished the season with a +4 rating.
  • Scored his first career goal in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals against Penn State (March 14). 
  • Notched his first career point with an assist in Notre Dame’s 3-0 win against Ohio State (Dec. 12).
  • Had his first career multipoint game with a pair of assists in the 8-1 win at Ohio State (Feb. 6).
  • Ended the season on a two-game point streak (1-1-2). 
  • After being selected by Colorado in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, saw his rights traded to Chicago at the trade deadline (April 12).

IN THE USHL

  • Rolston joins the Irish after playing the 2019-20 season with Waterloo (USHL), where he played in 42 games and scored 16 goals and added 17 assists for 33 points.
  • His 16 goals ranked fourth on the team, while his 33 points ranked fifth.
  • Three of his 16 goals proved to be game winners.
  • Ranked No. 102 among North American Skaters in the final NHL Central Scouting Rankings (April 8, 2020).
  • Named to the 2020 BioSteel All-American Game (Dec. 27, 2019)

WITH USA HOCKEY

  • Named to the 2019 U.S. Junior Select Team for the World Junior A Challenge where he helped Team USA earn bronze.
  • Prior to joining Waterloo, Rolston skated with the USNTDP for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
  • In 2017-18, he played 52 games for the U17 program, scoring 26 goals and notching 11 assists for 37 points.
  • Then in 2018-19, he played the majority of the season with the U18 team, skating in 54 games and totaling 20 goals and 13 assists for 33 points.

PREP AND PERSONAL

  • Played with the Little Caesars program before joining the USNTDP.
  • Rolston is the son of former NHLer and Stanley Cup Champion Brian Rolston.
  • Brian helped Lake Superior State win the 1992 NCAA National Championship under current Irish head coach Jeff Jackson.
