RECORD BOOK UPDATE: McNamara’s final round 67 (-5) at the 2011 NCAA Southeast Regional went into the Notre Dame record book as the second-lowest, 18-hole score in Irish NCAA history (since scoring changed to stroke play), besting the previous mark of 68 that had been shot on four occasions … ranks fifth in career stroke average with a mark of 74.42 (minimum 35 rounds played).

AS A SENIOR: Played in every team tournament, and saw 20 of his 24 rounds (.833) count toward the team score … posted eight rounds at even or better, including four sub-par rounds throughout the season … finished in the top 10 twice and top 25 five times … led the team in the fall with a 72.18 stroke average … best 54-hole tournament finish was tied for sixth place at the Georgetown Intercollegiate (Oct. 22-23) with a score of 214 (+1) … began the fall portion of his senior campaign with a 70 (-2) during the first round of the Tar Heel Intercollegiate (Sept. 15-16) … tied for seventh with an even-par score of 140 in the 36-hole Macdonald Cup (Sept. 29-30) … tied for 15th place at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (Oct. 7-9) with a 219 (+6) mark … began the spring season at the Schenkel Invitational (March 15-17) by carding a three-round total of 220 (+4) at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga. … finished the season tied for 25th place at the BIG EAST Championship (April 28-30) with a score of 222 (+6) on the Tom Watson Course at Reunion Resort … monogram winner.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Monogram winner … finished the season as arguably the team’s most improved golfer on the year … played in 10 tournaments on the year, competing in the rotation at nine of those events … ended the season with a stroke average of 74.30, including 74.00 in the spring and 74.67 in the fall … saw 21 of his 24 team rounds (.875) counted toward the team total … posted four under-par rounds along with three even-par rounds … three of his four sub-par rounds also broke 70 … led the team score at two of the tournaments … at The College of Charleston Invitational (Sept. 13-14), finished tied for 12th with a 54-hole score of 223 (+7) … competed as an individual at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (Sept. 27-28), finishing in a share of 67th at 22-over par (232) … returned to the rotation at the Lone Star Invitational (Oct. 17-18), finishing tied for 35th with a 223 (+7) … earned second-highest finish of the year at the St. Mary’s Invitational (Oct. 25-26), tying for seventh at two-over par (218) … led the Irish at the Notre Dame vs. Yale Challenge Cup (March 14), ending at five-over par (149) … tied for 55th at the Schenkel Invite (March 18-20), carding a 54-hole score of 225 (+9) … again led the Irish at the LSU National Invitational (April 2-3), tying for 19th with a 227 (+11) score … at the Battle at the Warren (April 12), finished tied for fifth after carding a 71 (E) … finished third amongst the Irish rotation and tied for 10th overall with a 222 (+9) … one of two Irish golfers to finish in the top 25 at the NCAA Southeast Regional (May 19-21), tying for 24th with a 216 (E) … the 216 not only was his lowest tournament score of the season but also the lowest of his career to-date … his final-round 67 also set a new low-mark for a single round during his Irish career.

AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in two tournaments in his first season with the Irish, both as an individual … notched a 77.50 stroke average … first collegiate appearance came in the fall of 2009 at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (Oct. 5-6) … tied for 65th with a 23-over par 233 (80-79-74) at the FIGGC … recorded a seven-over par 77 in the Battle at the Warren (April 14).
