2022-23 (Grad Year)

  • 2023 ACC All-Academic Team
  • Finished his five-year career with 1,660 points on 42.5 percent shooting. Knocked down 253 total three-pointers on 39.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Also a career 80.1 percent from the free-throw line.
  • Was poised to be the starting point guard but sprained his MCL during the preseason. Made his Irish debut for the ACC opener on Dec. 3 vs Syracuse. He was able to remove the knee brace for the Dec. 18 game vs Georgia.
  • Played in 24 games, with 13 starts, and averaged 25.4 minutes.
  • Two 20-point games in the month of March. Averaged 17.3 ppg over the last three games.
  • Carried the team in the ACC Tournament matchup vs Virginia Tech, pouring in a season-best 23 points. Hammond shot 9-of-16 from the field and 3-of-4 from three.
  • Drained 11 of his last 18 from three over the last four games played.
  • Finished with the best shooting percentage amongst guards on the team at 46.1 percent.
  • Became ND’s best three-point option down the final stretch. Finished with a team-best 41.2 percent from deep.
  • Went thru Senior Day festivities on March 1 vs #25 Pitt then co-led the team in scoring with 20 points. Hammond sunk 4-of-6 from three and drained 8-of-11 overall.
  • Irish ended 1st half vs UNC (2/22) on a 17-4 scoring run in which Hammond scored all nine of his points.
  • Scored six of his 10 points in the final nine minutes of the Virginia game on Feb. 18.
  • Led team in scoring in back-to-back games: Syracuse + BC (Jan. 14-17) –> had back-to-back games with a season high in made threes (4+5).
  • First double-double of the season, and 5th of his career, with 11 points and 10 rebounds at NC State.
  • Tied his career high in made three-pointers with five, leading the team with 19 points vs FSU on Jan. 17.
  • Hammond knocked down four threes to register 18 points at Syracuse on Jan. 14. He led the team in scoring and even flashed his fast-break prowess with a couple great drives in the second half.
  • The Hammond breakout game was Dec. 27 vs Jacksonville when he poured in a team-best 15 points in the win. He shot 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-7 from deep. “That was Marcus Hammond,” said Coach Brey. “He’s a scorer. He’s really gifted. I think he was thinking too much. He’s really gifted. Man, he’s played a lot of basketball and I’m thrilled for him. He deserved that.”
  • Scored 10 of his 12 points in the 2nd half vs Miami, which included a four-point play that made it a one-possession game with 12 min remaining.
  • Tallied six points and three assists in his debut vs Syracuse, which included what could have been the game-winning go-ahead and-one basket with less than 30 seconds left.

2021-22 (Senior)

  • Eighth player in NU history to earn all-conference honors three or more times. Was a First-Team selection in 2021-22.
  • Led the Purple Eagles in scoring, averaging 18.1 ppg – also ranked second in the MAAC
  • Scored in double figures in his 29 games played and scored 20 or more points in 12 games
  • Scored a season high 28 points twice – versus Canisius on Jan. 13 and Siena on March 3
  • Surpassed 1,000 career points in Niagara’s 70-59 win over Colgate on Nov. 29. He finished his senior season with 1,422 career points
  • Three-time MAAC Player of the Week honoree
  • Finished third in the MAAC in three-point field goals made per game (2.3), sixth in free-throw percentage (.831), ninth in three-point field goal percentage (.370) and 10th in assists (2.9)

2020-21 (Junior)

  • All-MAAC Second Team honoree
  • Three-time MAAC Player of the Week
  • Averaged 12.7 points per game and led the team in rebound with 5.8 boards per game. Started all 20 games
  • His 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio was the second best in the MAAC
  • Finished the season eighth in the MAAC in both assists per game (3.0) and free throw percentage (.765). He was 11th in 3-pointers per game (1.8), 12th in rebounding and 13th in scoring.

2019-20 (Sophomore)
Started in 32 games…Lead the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game, in rebounds with 4.6 per game, and in assists with 2.9 per game…Finished ninth in the MAAC in scoring (14.3 ppg), 11th in assists (2.9 apg), third in 3-point field goal percentage (.425), and fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.3 pg)…Named to the All-MAAC First Team…Named MAAC Player of the Week on February 17 and on March 2…Scored 12 points and had a game-high seven rebounds in the season opener at Drexel (11/8)…Scored a season-high 14 points and a then-season-high four assists to lead the game at Stephen F.
