CAREER: Strong and talented defensive lineman who played defensive end as freshman in Notre Dame[apos]s 3-4 defensive scheme and slid inside to defensive tackle as sophomore in 4-3 defense run … moved back to defensive end in Bob Diaco[apos]s 3-4 defense last fall … has played in all 38 games in his Notre Dame career and started 28 contests, including all 13 in 2010 … totaled 83 tackles including 17.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks … active leader on the Irish in sacks … second among active players in tackles for loss, second in tackles for loss yardage and second in sacks yardage (trails only Darius Fleming in those categories) … added five pass breakups, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
