Robert Wong 2019-20 Fencing Roster

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Finished his first season with the Irish posting a 23-8 record
• Won 16 straight through the NYU Invitational (3-0) and DeCicco Duals (13-0)
• Concluded the season at the Northwestern Duals where he posted a 6-3 record

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated from Horace Greeley High School in spring 2017
• Coached by former two time Olympian Slava Grigoriev at Fencing Academy of Westchester.
• Scored his highest Division I finish in 2016 at the Division I Championship in eighth place.
• Scored his highest at the International Cadet Circuit, placing seventh in Italy 2015 and finishing in eighth place in Germany 2016. Finished in the top 10 in Hungary 2015.
• Scored his highest at 2015 National Championship, medaling 6th place in Cadet.
• Scored his highest at 2014 Super Youth 14, snaring gold.
• In high school, was a peer leader, soccer captain, member of the Cum Laude Society and an AP Scholar with distinction.
• Son of Bill Wong and Mi Chung.
• Both younger siblings, Sophia and Jackson, are current fencers at his former fencing club.

• Pursuing a double major in economics and film, television and theatre
