No. 3 Duke Women’s Tennis Team Defeats No. 11 Notre Dame 8-1

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Third-ranked Duke swept all six singles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over 11th-ranked Notre Dame in women’s tennis on Saturday afternoon at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.

The Blue Devils are 6-2 on the season while the Irish fall to 7-4.

Karin Miller, Luanne Spadea, Diana Spadea and Karen O’Sullivan won singles and doubles matches for the Blue Devils.

Sophomore Courtney Haskell and junior Kelley Olson provided the Irish with its only victory of the day, a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory in number three doubles over Kristin Sanderson and Wendy Fix.

Notre Dame’s next match is tomorrow at Northwestern. Notre Dame’s next home match is next Friday night when the Irish play host to Michigan. Match time is 7:30 p.m.
