Irish Rally to Win Over Alabama

MADISON, Wisc. — Sophomore Kelley Olson rallied at No. 5 singles after trailing by a set and down 5-1 in the second set in the deciding match to lead Notre Dame to a 4-3 win over Alabama in a consolation match of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Team Tennis Championship on Friday. Notre Dame will conclude play Vanderbilt to wrap up action in the event on Saturday.

Olson defeated Cantillon Brassington by a 6-7 (3), 7-6 (2), 7-5 score at No. 5 to give Notre Dame the win. Tiffany Gates won at No. 3 singles and Darcie Sweet won at No. 6 as the Irish won the double points en route to the win. Notre Dame improves to 5-2 on the season while Alabama falls to 6-2.
