Women’s Swimming Beats Eastern Michigan, Falls to Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Notre Dame’s women’s swimming team went 1-1 on the day as they lost to Michigan 82-58 and beat Eastern Michigan 116-23 on Saturday at the Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Mich., to close the 1996-97 dual-meet season with a 7-5 record. The Irish next return to the pool at the BIG EAST Championships Feb. 19-22.

Junior Linda Gallo was a triple winner for the Irish as she won the 1000, 500 and 200 freestyle events. Erin Brooks won the 200 backstroke and Liz Barger was first in the 100 butterfly for Notre Dame.
