Secret Sisters Society

The Secret Sisters Society Mammogram Program is all-inclusive. Women choose where they will receive their mammogram. Between March 1, 2003 and July 1, 2011, more than 4,000 mammograms have been provided or scheduled by the following:

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center – 42% Elkhart General Hospital – 37% Memorial Hospital – 21%

The Secret Sisters Society fund is administered through United Health Services, local administrator for the State of Indiana’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP). In addition, Radiology, Inc. and X-Ray Consultants play an important role in providing these screening mammograms, as they provide services at the above hospitals.

Women who have received Secret Sisters mammograms live all around us.

Since March 1, 2003, women have been served from 16 counties:

St. Joseph County – 54%

Elkhart County – 38%

Marshall County – 5%

Other – 3%

Young Survivors

The Young Survivors fund is administered through the Breast Health Programs at United Health Services (UHS). These funds are specifically earmarked to help women under 40, who are medically underserved, gain access to diagnostic services that would otherwise not be affordable. The program’s breast health advocate ensures clients receive appropriate breast health services, while guiding patients through the health care system. Since inception in May 2010, the program has provided 42 diagnostic services, including clinical breast exams, diagnostic mammograms, and ultrasounds.
