Seven Players Score in Double Figures as Irish Beat Orangewomen

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Senior forward Rosanne Bohman scored 16 points to leadseven Notre Dame players in double figures as the 15th-ranked Irish beatSyracuse 90-73 in a Big East contest at the Joyce Center. It was the 10thstraight win for Notre Dame, its longest win streak since the 1990-91 season asthe Irish improved to 20-4 and 12-0 in the Big East.

The Irish reached the 20-win plateau for the fourth straight year and the 12thtime in its 20-year history.

Bohman also grabbed a game-high tying nine rebounds in the contest. Also indouble figures for Notre Dame were Mollie Peirick (15 points); Katryna Gaither(14); Beth Morgan, Sheila McMillen and Kari Hutchinson (11)and Jeannine Augustin, who chipped in 10. Hutchinson’s 11 points tied hercareer-high.

Syracuse was led by Raquel Nurse and Teakyta Barnes who each scored a game-high18 points. Paula Moore added 15 for the Orangewomen, while Carmen Glover netted13. Glover also had nine rebounds in the game.

Notre Dame shot 54.7 percent from the field. The Irish hit seven of their 18three-point attempts, while Syracuse was just three of 11 from three-pointrange.

Notre Dame never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 24 points onseveral occasions in the second half.

Augustin finished with a game-high nine assists in the game and played 36minutes in the contest.

With the loss, Syracuse drops to 5-15 and 3-9 in the league.

Notre Dame returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. when the Irishtravel to top-ranked Connecticut to face the undefeated Huskies at the GampelPavilion in Storrs, Conn.
