Notre Dame Improves To 6-0 In the Big East

SYRACUSE, N.Y — Katryna Gaither led Notre Dame with 21 points and 12rebounds as the Irish raced to a 72-45 victory over Syracuse before 714 fans atthe Manley Field House.

Notre Dame (14-4 overall, 6-0 Big East) led Syracuse 36-26 at halftime and beganopening up a larger lead early in the second half. But Syracuse (4-11, 2-5)climbed to within 53-40 with 10:33 remaining in the game when Carmen Glover sanktwo foul shots.

However, the Fighting Irish outscored Syracuse 19-5 in the last 12 minutes tosecure the win.

Beth Morgan added 15 points for Notre Dame, while Rosanne Bohman and JulieHenderson each chipped in with 12.

Teakyta Barnes matched her career-high with 21 points to lead Syracuse.
