Notre Dame Loses to Miami at Big East Championships

MIAMI, Fla. — The University of Miami men’s tennis team, ranked No. 27 in the nation, posted a 4-1 win over Notre Dame on Sunday in the championship match of the BIG EAST Conference championship. The Irish are 19-5 on the season and ranked No. 13 in the country.

Notre Dame started the match on a strong note by winning the doubles point, but the Irish stumbled in the singles portion by losing four matches.

Notre Dame returns to action on May 9-11 when it travels to the University of Illinois for the NCAA Midwest Regional. The Irish are expected to receive a bid to that event with the winner advancing to the NCAA Championship in Los Angeles.
