Notre Dame Advances to Big East Semifinals

MIAMI, Fla. — The University of Notre Dame men’s tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the BigEast Championship on Friday with a 4-0 win over Connecticut in the quarterfinals of the event. NotreDame, the top seed in the event, received a first round bye on Thursday and will now meet Rutgers onSaturday in the semifinals.

Notre Dame, the defending Big East champion, improves to 18-4 on the season and is ranked No. 13 in thecountry. Seniors Ryan Simme and Marco Magnano and sophomore Brian Patterson were all winners in bothsingles and doubles for the Irish on Friday against the Huskies.
