Notre Dame Men’s Tennis Sweeps Ball State, 7-0

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Irish won their fifth straight after they demolished Ball State. The men’s tennis team swept the competition in both doubles and singles for a 7-0 victory. The win elevates the Irish to a 14-4 record on the year.

In singles action Notre Dame took all but one of the matchesin two sets. At the number one slot Ryan Sachrine defeated BryanSmith 6-4, 6-3. Ryan Simme recorded a 6-0, 6-3 win againstPatrick Vizzone at the number three position. The closest BallState came to a match point was at the number four slot. KevinDonovan, of Ball State, took Dan Rothschild into a third set after tieing the match at 1-1 with a 6-2 set win in the second set. Rothschild preserved the shut out with a 6-2 win in the final set.

In doubles play the Irish continued their dominance. NotreDame swept the doubles matches 8-4, 9-8, 8-2.
