Notre Dame Men’s Swimming Defeats Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Notre Dame’s men’s and women’s swimmingand diving teams both won dual meets Friday but in vastly different styles. Thewomen’s team routed Southern Illinois 161-132 while the men’s edged host Buffalo126-115 in a meet that went down to the last relay. With the wins, both teamsimprove to 6-3 on the season. The women will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. onSaturday to face Eastern Michigan and host Michigan. The men swim at St.Bonventure on Saturday.

The men were lead by senior captain Matt Rose who won both the 200 breaststrokeand the 200 individual medley and freshman diver Herb Huesman won both the oneand three-meter diving events. The meet was a back-and-forth affair with theIrish winning the final relay to pull out the win, their fourth-straight win.
