University of Notre Dame softball senior Cait Brooks has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week for Tuesday, March 19, 2019. The Burbank, California, native helped Notre Dame surge through a 7-2 Spring Break week record with four home runs, six runs batted in and 18 total bases.
Brook’s signature highlight of the weekend was a two-run homer in the top of the fourth during game two of the three-game weekend series at No. 3 Florida State on Saturday, March 16. The two-run shot evened the game at 2-2 and sparked the Irish to their 7-4 victory over the Seminoles.
For the season, Brooks is batting .368 with an .897 slugging percentage, 11 home runs and 27 RBI.
The Irish are scheduled for their 2019 home opener on Wednesday, March 20, against UIC at 5:30 p.m. ET. Notre Dame will play host to its first home ACC series of the year this weekend against Louisville.
