NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The BIG EAST Conference has named sophomore So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep) the conference’s Women’s Golfer of the Week. It is Park’s first career BIG EAST Player of the Week accolade.

Park recently finished tied for 23rd at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, held in Austin, Texas from March 20-22. On the tournament’s final day, she carded a team-best 76. At the event, Park also turned in a first round score of 73 followed by a 76 in the second round for a three-round total of 225.

Park helped the Irish to a sixth place finish at the Betsy Rawls Invitational at The University of Texas Golf Club. All told, she notched seven birdies on the weekend and 33 pars at the event. She did so against a challenging field that included six top-22 ranked teams according to golfstat.com.

For her career, Park carries a 74.31 stroke average in 19 events. In addition, 94 of the 2008 All-American’s 106 rounds played for the Irish have counted towards the team’s score. Earlier this season at the Heather Farr Memorial on September 29, Park tied the program record for the lowest individual round as she fired a six-under 66.

Park and her Irish teammates return to action at The Bryan National Collegiate in Brown Summit, N.C. The tournament, which is being held on the Bryan National Golf Course, opens on Friday, April 3 and concludes on Sunday, April 5. The field includes nine of the top-25 ranked teams according to golfstat.com.
