NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Six members of the Notre Dame swimming and diving teams, Tabahn Afrik, Abbie Dolan, Meaghan O’Donnell, Erin Sheehan, Daniel Speers and Alice Treuth were named to the CSCAA’s Scholar All-America team this week. These six individuals were recognized for competing in the NCAA Championships while maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.50.
In addition, to those six who excelled in the pool and the classroom, both the Irish men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were honored for their collectively strong academic work. Each squad was named Scholar All-America Teams by the CSCAA for achieving a combined team GPA of at least 3.0 during the spring semester as the men posted a 3.26 and the women recorded a 3.47.
Notre Dame is the only ACC school to have both its men’s and women’s programs earn Scholar All-America Team recognition each with a GPA of at least 3.25.
“I am extremely proud of our team’s efforts in the classroom,” head coach Mike Litzinger said. “At Notre Dame, excellence in athletic competition and in the classroom is a standard that our teams strive for. To reach both of these goals is an example of our swimmers and divers to be great at what they do.”
In addition to this national coaches association honor, Dolan, Sheehan and Speers were named in April to the All-ACC Academic Team for their respective genders.

A native of Framingham, Massachusetts, Torbin graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management.
