Six Irish Named to 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — University of Notre Dame football defensive lineman Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, linebackers Bo Bauer and Drew White, wide receiver Avery Davis and offensive linemen Cain Madden and Josh Lugg were all named to the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List Thursday afternoon.

Tagovailoa-Amosa, a graduate student, earned All-ACC Second Team honors in 2020, after a season in which he totaled 17 tackles, 6.0 TFL (loss of 21 yards) and 2.5 sacks. He also recovered two fumbles and forced a fumble. He was named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-Independent First Team in 2020, and was a Piesman Trophy Finalist in 2019. Heading into the 2021 season, he was named to the Wuerffel Trophy and Nagurski Trophy Watch Lists.

Madden, a graduate transfer from Marshall, was a 2020 Walter Camp Second Team All-American and an AP Second Team All-American. He started 9-of-10 games for the Thundering Herd in 2020. Madden and the offensive line paved the way for Marshall to outrush their opponents in 7-of-10 games and outpass opponents in six. The Herd also won time of possession in six games in 2020. In addition to his 2020 All-America honors, Madden was named first-team All-Conference USA. Heading into the 2021 season, he was named to the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombardi Award Watch Lists.

Davis, a graduate student, played in all 12 games and made four starts for the Irish in the 2020 season en route to the program’s second appearance in the College Football Playoff in the last three seasons. In his first full season playing wide receiver, he hauled in 24 catches for 322 yards and two touchdowns. Heading into the 2021 season, he was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List.

White, a graduate student, started all 12 games last season. He finished the year second on the team in tackles-for-loss (9.0) and tied for third on the squad in tackles (57). He earned the game ball following a five tackle, 2.0 TFL and 0.5 sack performance in the 31-17 road win over No. 19 North Carolina.

Bauer, a senior, saw the field in all 12 games for the Irish last season. He posted his first career sack along with four tackles and two tackles-for-loss in the home win over Florida State. A few weeks later, he snagged his first career interception in the 45-3 road win over Pitt. His best performance of the season came against Syracuse when he finished with six tackles, second most on the team, and two TFL’s.

Lugg, a graduate student, played in 11 games last season and started the last four games of the season. He was a key member of the offensive line that was a Joe Moore Award finalist during the 2020 season. He is one of the most experienced offensive lineman returning to the Irish lineup this season, having seen action in 37 games.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL Draft process. The Reese’s Senior Bowl had 106 total players drafted and 36 selected in the first three rounds of this year’s NFL Draft. The 106 figure represents 41% of the NFL Draft. This year’s game will be held February 5, 2022 and broadcast on the NFL Network. Practices will be live on ESPN and NFL Network hosts a daily recap show each evening in primetime.
