Sirico Earns ACC Fencer Of The Week Honors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame women’s fencing junior Amanda Sirico earned Atlantic Coast Conference Female Fencer of the Week honors after a strong showing at last week’s Northwestern Duals, the league announced Wednesday.

Sirico, a native of Bowie, Maryland, led the Irish women’s epee team with a 14-3 record and helped the Irish to an undefeated record at the Northwestern Duals. Posting an 11-win weekend, Notre Dame’s women’s team defeated five ranked teams, including No. 4 Princeton, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 7 Temple, No. 8 Northwestern and No. 9 Penn.

Sirico improved to 43-9 on the season and 93-25 for her career in the competition. This is the second career ACC weekly honor for Sirico, who was also named ACC Fencer of the Week for the week of Feb. 1, 2017.
