South Bend, Ind. – The fall issue of Sports Illustrated for Women recently ranked the top 20 schools for women. Notre Dame, which has enjoyed tremendous growth and success in the last decade, was named 15th on that list.
Sports Illustrated for Women used several criteria in developing its list from chamionships won, varsity, club and intramural opportunities, graduation rates, financial aid and fan support. Also considered were facilities, sports-related curriculum, traditions and attitude.
Stanford topped the top 10 list followed by Florida, Texas, North Carolina, UCLA, Georgia, Arizona, Maryland, Harvard and Wisconsin.
