NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Have you ever wondered what it takes to play like the University of Notre Dame softball team? A total of 10 current players attended Notre Dame softball camps to learn the `Irish Way,’ and all aspiring players ages 5-18 have the opportunity to do the same with two innovative camp offerings from the Irish in the summer of 2016.

Head coach Deanna Gumpf, the third winningest coach in Notre Dame athletics history, associate coaches Kris Ganeff and Lizzy Ristano, volunteer assistant coach Jamie Spitale and director of operations Kasey O’Connor will be joined by select players in presenting the Notre Dame Softball Kids Camp from June 20-22. The Irish then welcome an advanced age group for the Notre Dame Softball Elite Day Camp on July 11-13 on the Notre Dame campus.

For one affordable price for each session, campers receive hours of elite instruction from one of the most successful softball programs in the nation during these two interactive skills camps.

The Notre Dame Softball Kids Camp is scheduled to run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (ET) on Monday, June 20 through Wednesday, June 22, and has been specifically designed for players ages 5-12. Camp participants will refine the fundamentals of hitting, defense, pitching, catching and baserunning to build a complete softball skillset. There will be no live games during this session.

The cost for the three-day kids camp is $200 per player, with check-in scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on June 20. This camp session is tailored to beginners and intermediate players looking to sharpen their softball fundamentals.

Notre Dame’s Elite Day Camp is set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (ET) on Monday, July 11 through Wednesday, July 13, specifically designed for players ages 11-18. The elite multi-skills camp will cover hitting, defense, pitching, catching, baserunning and live games during the instructional experience. Camp locations include the Frank Eck Baseball Stadium and indoor batting cages, the Notre Dame Stinson Rugby Field and the Loftus Sports Center. A boxed lunch is included each day as part of camp registration.

The cost for the three-day elite camp is $475 per player, with registration scheduled for 9 a.m. on July 11 prior to the opening session. Campers will have the opportunity to go through a video analysis of their hitting, pitching, or both for an additional cash payment at check-in. The cost is $40 for hitting, $40 for pitching, or $65 for both.

The elite skills camp has been prepared for experienced softball players looking to take their game to the next level.
