University of Notre Dame goaltender Shane Doss claimed Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday for men’s lacrosse.

Doss, a junior from Glen Ridge, New Jersey, allowed only three goals and made 10 saves Sunday while playing 51:29 in goal in Notre Dame’s 13-7 victory over Army. He had helped the Irish build a 12-3 lead when he left the game.

Doss ranks among the 2016 national leaders in both goals-against average (7.36) and save percentage (.575).

Doss also earned that same ACC honor Feb. 22 after Notre Dame’s season-opening win against Georgetown in which he made 14 saves as the Irish won 12-7.

The Irish, seeded third in the 2016 NCAA Championship bracket, play host to Air Force at 7:30 p.m. EDT Saturday at Arlotta Stadium in a first-round NCAA game.
