The University of Notre Dame Rowing Team refers to its current student-athletes and alumnae as ‘Shamrock Sisters.’ Molly Bruggeman, a 2014 graduate, wrapped up Notre Dame’s involvement in the 2016 World Rowing Championships by helping the United States Women’s Four to second place in the grand final.
Bruggeman (bow) and her team of Emily Huelskamp (seat two), Corinne Scholler (seat three) and Christine O’Brien (stroke) finished in 7:21.53, earning the silver medal behind Great Britain at 7:16.28.

Bruggeman claims the top finish of the Shamrock Sisters at the World Championships. Sophomore Molly Pierce helped the U.S. Under-23 Lightweight Quadruple Sculls finish eighth overall (second in the ‘B’ final) and 2016 Notre Dame graduate Ellen Gleadow was a part of the the Canadian Under-23 Lightweight Women’s Quadruple Sculls that won the ‘B’ Final and finished seventh overall in the competition.
