Head coach Christine Halfpenny and her Fighting Irish will participate in the second annual Lax for the Cure game against Cincinnati on April 28.

Second Annual Lax For The Cure Scheduled

April 11, 2012

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team has scheduled the second annual Lax for the Cure game for the Cincinnati matchup on April 28 at Arlotta Stadium.

Last year the team raised over $6,000 for the Susan G. Komen of Northern Indiana, which was the most in the nation. This year the Irish will provide several opportunities for fans to donate money to this worthy cause.

The team will open the weekend by volunteering at Northern Indiana Race for the Cure events on April 27. The following day is race and game day, as the Race for the Cure will be run that morning at Coveleski Stadium before the Irish battle the Bearcats at 12 p.m. Fans that run in the race can bring their race bib to the game and get free admission.

At the game Lax for the Cure t-shirts will be sold for $10. Head coach Christine Halfpenny will donate $5 for every goal Notre Dame scores, and invites fans to join the Coach Halfpenny Challenge and do the same.

An online auction at UND.com that will run from April 19-May 1 will feature the warm-up jerseys that the team will wear before the game against Cincinnati.

Fans wishing to make a donation to the Lax for the Cure cause can call 574-631-7356.
