Second Annual An Evening With Notre Dame Basketball Set For April 17

March 7, 2013

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The second annual An Evening With Notre Dame Basketball will take place on Wednesday, April 17 beginning at 5:00 pm at Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center. Fans won’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind event honoring the 2012-13 University of Notre Dame men’s basketball team and its coaches.

This special evening for fans of all ages proved quite popular a year ago as it offers a unique look into the Fighting Irish men’s basketball program and behind-the-scene access to many of the team’s facilities. The affair was a change in format from the postseason banquet events of seasons past. It offers a casual setting where those in attendance have the opportunity to spend time talking with their favorite Irish players as well as having their questions answered by team members and the Irish coaching staff.

Among the facilities included in the all-access tour for fans are the men’s basketball locker room, team room, coaches’ offices, the auditorium where film sessions and postgame news conferences are held as well as Notre Dame’s auxiliary practice facility, more affectionately known as “The Pit.” Coaches and players will be stationed at these various locations and fans will have the opportunity to pose for pictures as well as get autographs.

A reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available in the Joyce Center’s Heritage Hall from 5:00 pm until the start of the awards program at 7:00 pm on the Purcell Pavilion floor. During the awards program, fans will have the opportunity to hear from Coach Brey and select members of the Irish squad as well as watch video tributes to the team highlighting the many significant accomplishments of the 108th season of Fighting Irish basketball.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship fund of the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley. A silent auction also will be held in the Monogram Room.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $15 for fans under 18 years and can be purchased by calling the Notre Dame Ticket Office at 574-631-7356 or by stopping by the ticket office at Gate 9 of Purcell Pavilion. Click here to purchase your tickets online.
