NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Sean Rogers, a senior attackman on the Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team, has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in two Irish wins last week. This marked the second straight week that Rogers was selected to the league’s honor roll.

Rogers (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Holy Trinity) tallied a career-high four goals in Notre Dame’s BIG EAST opener, a 12-9 win over Rutgers on Sunday. All four goals occurred in the second half. His first tally gave the Irish an 8-6 lead, while his second score also pushed the Notre Dame lead to two (9-7). He deposited Notre Dame’s final two goals of the game.

The senior also scored a goal in last Wednesday’s 8-7 victory at Ohio State. Rogers gave the Fighting Irish a 3-2 advantage over the Buckeyes in the second quarter.

Rogers has a team-best 12 goals this season. In addition to the two weekly honor roll citations, he was named the league’s offensive player of the week on March 5.

The sixth-ranked Fighting Irish (6-1, 1-0) will face BIG EAST foe St. John’s on Sunday in the Konica Minolta Big City Classic in East Rutherford, N.J. Faceoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. (ET) at MetLife Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
