NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Senior forward Ryan Finley garnered both national and conference honors after helping the Notre Dame men’s soccer team to two victories last week. Finley scored two goals against both Pittsburgh and Georgetown.

Finley (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley/Duke) was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and the TopDrawerSoccer.com co-National Player of the Week in addition to being selected to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

Finley contributed to Notre Dame’s largest goal output ever in a BIG EAST match by scoring the team’s third (33rd minute) and fifth (68th minute) goals in the 7-1 win over Pittsburgh. He scored twice in the 66th minute in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over No. 3 Georgetown.

The senior forward leads the Fighting Irish in goals (10) and points (21) this season. Finely has three two-goal matches this season and 11 career multiple-goal games. He is the first Notre Dame player since Joseph Lapira in 2007 to notch consecutive multiple-goal matches.
