NOTRE DAME, Ind. — With wins in the regatta each of the past two seasons, the University of Notre Dame rowing team looks to complete the three-peat at the Dale England Cup this weekend on Lake Lemon in Bloomington. The Irish totaled 117 points during the 2014 edition of the regatta to repeat as the overall champion.
No. RV Notre Dame will face No. 11 Indiana, No. 12 Texas and Columbia during three separate race sessions. The Irish and Indiana compete exclusively against one another on Friday night, with Notre Dame and the Hoosiers also kicking off Saturday morning’s session. Notre Dame and Texas will close out the morning, with the Irish taking on Columbia in NCAA racing Saturday afternoon.
Notre Dame won all six NCAA heats during the Saturday session of the 2014 Dale England Cup to win the overall event championship for the second straight season. The Irish total of 117 points outpointed No. 13 Indiana, as the host Hoosiers scored a total of 103 points over the three race sessions.
