Rowing Announces 2010 Spring Schedule

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame rowing team and head coach Martin Stone announced its 2010 spring schedule. The seven-race campaign will provide a challenging slate for the Irish, opening with the Spring Break Regatta from Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 13-14.

Two weeks later the Irish, who have captured six consecutive BIG EAST titles, return to the water in East Lansing, Mich. for races against Michigan State and Michigan on Saturday, Mar. 27. Notre Dame faces a quick turnaround as it heads to Indianapolis, Ind. to take on Indiana, Purdue, Eastern Michigan and Buffalo from Eagle Creek on Sunday, Mar. 28.

The month of April kicks off with a test for the Irish, as they head west to take on UCLA and USC in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday, Apr. 10 in preparation for the BIG EAST Championships.

With a seventh-straight BIG EAST conference crown on the line, Notre Dame then heads to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. on Sunday, Apr. 25 in search of another title. The current streak of six-consecutive conference championships stands as the second longest active Notre Dame streak behind women’s swimming and diving (13).

The schedule concludes with the South/Central Regatta back at Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, followed by the NCAA Championships, Fri.-Sun., May 28-30 at the Folsom Dam in Sacramento, Calif.
