SOPHOMORE SEASON (2007-08):

Started all 33 contests … averaged 8.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.8 steals led the BIG EAST in assists for the second straight year in overall games (5.85) and conference contests (5.94)… notched second straight double-double and third of his career against Pittsburgh as he finished with 16 points and a career-high 13 rebounds … also dished off five assists and made three steals while not committing a turnover in 37 minutes … registered second double-double of his career when he tallied a season-high 17 points, dished off 10 assists and grabbed eight rebounds … recorded double figures for a season-high fifth straight game in win over Syracuse as he finished with 10 points … posted first double-double of his career when he scored a season-high 15 points and dished off 10 assists in win over San Francisco … also finished with six rebounds and three steals in the contest … tallied 10 points and dished off nine assists in BIG EAST tournament quarterfinal loss to Marquette … scored 14 points, dished off seven assists and grabbed three rebounds in playing a personal best 41 minutes in overtime win against Providence … had one of his most complete games of the season against DePaul as he finished with eight points, six assists, four rebounds and equaled season-high with four steals … in second meeting against DePaul netted nine points, grabbed six rebounds and dished off five assists… scored four points, grabbed five rebounds in dished off eight assists against St. John’s … scored nine points, grabbed seven boards, dished off eight assists and made three steals against Seton Hall … followed that up with a 14 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals against Marquette … in second meeting against Connecticut, scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished off four assists and made two steals … matched his career-best with 11 assists against Connecticut and finished with six points, seven rebounds and four steals while playing 38 minutes … suffered a cornea abrasion in his right eye just before halftime and played entire second half of the game against the Huskies with an eye that was swollen shut … after missing previous five attempts in the North Florida and West Virginia games, he hit two key free throws with 1:52 to play that lifted the Irish a six-point lead … dished off seven assists in 38 minutes and committed just two turnovers against Villanova … handed out nine assists in following game versus Brown as he also grabbed six rebounds … followed that game up with a 10-assist outing against North Florida in addition to grabbing eight boards … netted double figures for the fourth time when he finished with 12 points against West Virginia… registered first double-figure scoring outing of the season against Georgia Tech as he netted 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished off three assists and made two steals against Georgia Tech in 37 minutes … scored a season-high 12 points against KansasState and dished off five assists … netted four points, grabbed six rebounds, dished off eight assists and made two steals in 28 minutes … scored three points, grabbed six rebounds, dished off four assists and made three steals in 33 minutes versus Monmouth …netted six points, dished off three assists and made three steals against Baylor … scored nine points, grabbed six rebounds and dished off six assists versus Youngstown State …in 28 minutes against Colgate, scored four points, grabbed three rebounds, made three steals, dished off seven assists and committed just one turnover … suffered a sprained elbow in first half of the Northern Illinois and did not return to play in the second half and finished the game with four points and four assists … finished with six points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in first meeting against Marquette … dished off eight assists against Cincinnati … grabbed seven rebounds versus Georgetown … averaged 6.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in Notre Dame’s two NCAA tournament games … scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds against George Mason and finished with seven points and four boards vs. Washington State … dished off six or more assists in 16 contests and 10-plus assists in four games … grabbed six-plus rebounds 15 games …netted double figures in 11 contests … played 30-plus minutes in all but seven contests.

Jackson … second youngest of 14 children … has nine older brothers– Jon, Vincent, Shawn, Anthony, Michael, Ivan, Bryan, Randy and Cory — and a younger brother Devante … has three older sisters — Paulette, Lynnette and Kimberly… brother Shawn played basketball at Western Michigan and sister Lynette played at Central State University … member of school’s National Honor Society … represents men’s basketball team on Notre Dame’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council … son of James and Sarah Jackson …  graduate in May of 2010 from the College of Arts and Letters and with a degree in sociology and computer applications.
