AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in the high jump at both the Blue and Gold Invitational and the Notre Dame Invitational during the indoor season … named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Robert John McCurrie graduated from Upper St. Clair (Pa.) in the spring of 2011 … earned four letters in indoor and outdoor track and field and two in soccer … specialized in the high and long jumps during the track season and was the team[apos]s goalie and a forward during soccer season … soccer team won two state titles and earned three national rankings … was a team captain as a senior in track and as a junior in soccer … also played club soccer for Beadling … helped club team to a pair of state titles … off the field, participated in school organizations such as the Future Business Leaders of American National Honor Society, Appalachian Outreach, Athletes Taking Action, Kids Helping Kids and the Ski Club … went on a volunteer trip to the Dominican Republic with the Kids Helping Kids group … born to Brian and Barbara McCurrie in Pittsburgh, Pa. … has three older brothers, Jimmy, David and Michael and one younger sister, Katie … has a long family tradition of attending Notre Dame as dad, Brian, and uncles Daniel and Bradley all played soccer and graduated from Notre Dame … all three brothers are on pace to graduate from Notre Dame as well … undecided on major.
