Paige Kaplan 2017-18 Swimming and Diving Roster

AS A JUNIOR (2017-18):

    •    At the dual meet with Georgia Tech, finished fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:05.27).
    •    Came in fourth in the 200 IM (2:08.98) against Ball State and Green Bay.
    •    Had her best finishes at the Ohio State Winter Invite, placing first in the 200 IM (2:07.05), second in the 400 IM (4:22.99), and third in the 200 butterfly (2:03.26).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17):

    •    Started her season with third place finishes in the 200 butterfly (2:05.22) and 200 L butterfly (2:22.13) against Michigan State and Iowa.
    •    Finished fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:05.71) against Indiana State and Oakland.
    •    Against Georgia Tech, placed fourth in the 400 IM (4:31.39) and fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:04.26).
    •    Ended the season with a great performance at the Ohio State Winter Invite as she won the 200 butterfly (2:03.97), finished second in the 200 IM with a career-best time of 2:04.93, and placed second in the 400 IM with a season-best time of 4:22.83.

AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16):

    •    At ACC meet, clocked in at 2:07.42 in 200 IM, 4:28.54 in 400 IM and 2:03.16 in 200 butterfly, finishing 25th and just missing qualifying for evening finals in 200 butterfly.
    •    Began the year at Dennis Stark Relay meet, swimming to first place with 400 IM relay (1:00.78 split), fifth with 300 butterfly relay (:58.24 leadoff split), ninth with 200 medley relay (:26.77 split) and exhibitioning with 400 medley relay (:57.18 split).
    •    At Florida Gulf Coast, finished fourth in 200 butterfly (2:05.43) and sixth in 100 butterfly (:57.78) and 200 medley relay (:26.28 split).
    •    Against Michigan State, took second in 200 butterfly (2:05.43), third in 400 IM (4:30.87) and split :26.16 on 200 freestyle relay.
    •    At Purdue the next day, clocked in at 2:05.39 in 200 butterfly and :58.87 in 100 butterfly.
    •    At Virginia Tech, touched the wall fifth in 200 butterfly (2:05.38) and 10th in 400 IM (4:35.26).
    •    At Purdue Invitational, swam in two relays and four individual races.
    •    Helped 200 freestyle relay to 19th (:25.51 split) and 200 medley relay to 13th (:25.72 split).
    •    Individually, clocked in a 2:07.41 in 200 IM and advanced to finals in 400 IM, 100 breaststroke and 200 butterfly.
    •    Finished 10th in 200 butterfly (2:02.23 finals, 2:03.40 prelims), 13th in 400 IM (4:26.67 finals, 4:29.25 prelims) and 28th in 100 breaststroke (1:06.83 finals, 1:07.16 prelims).
    •    At Virginia, took third in 400 IM (4:36.82), sixth in 200 butterfly (2:07.73) and 200 medley relay (:27.08 split), seventh with 400 medley relay (:59.12 split), eighth in 200 IM (2:11.56) and exhibitioned in 100 butterfly (:58.88).
    •    Versus Northwestern, earned two fifth place finishes in 200 medley relay (:26.53 split) and 100 butterfly (:58.28), taking sixth in 200 butterfly (2:06.83).
    •    Finished regular season in Shamrock Invitational.
    •    Came in third in 200 butterfly (2:03.78), sixth in 400 IM (4:33.58), seventh with 400 medley relay (:56.93 split), 10th in 100 butterfly :(57.44) and 11th in 200 IM (2:09.64).

PREP & PERSONAL:

    •    Graduated from John F. Kennedy High School (New York) in the spring of 2015.
    •    Specialized in the fly and individual medley events.
    •    Earned four letters in swimming.
    •    Placed first in the 100 butterfly (:55.53), fourth in the 200 medley relay, fifth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 200 freestyle relay at the New York State Championships as a senior.
    •    Rewrote own county record in the 100 butterfly.
    •    Placed fourth in 100 butterfly (:56.39) at state championships as a junior while also earning all-state honors in the 200 medley relay.
    •    Earned all-division and all-county honors while qualifying for junior nationals as a sophomore.
    •    Broke school records in the 100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke and 200 IM and a county record in the 200 freestyle relay as a freshman.
    •    Also was an NCSA Junior National Qualifier in the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 400 IM.?
    •    Competed for the Long Island Aquatic Club and the Bellmore-Merrick Girls varsity swim team.
    •    Holds club records in both butterfly and IM events.
    •    Senior METS champion.
    •    Helped club team finish second in state while finishing first in the 100 butterfly at New York state meet.
    •    High school teammate of former Irish swimmer Molly Treble.
    •    Member of the Kiwanis Club.
    •    Participated in the National Honor, Math Honor, Spanish Honor and Science Honor societies.
    •    Paige Elizabeth Kaplan was born in Manhasset, New York to Evan and Patricia Kaplan.
    •    Has an older sister, Ashley, and two younger sisters, Brooke and Stephanie. 
    •    Enrolled in the College of Science, majoring in Science Pre-Professional Studies.
