As A Senior (2021-22)

  • Qualified for the 2022 NCAA Championships and swam in four separate events.
  • Earned honorable mention All-American status after finishing 12th with a time of 51.61 in the 100 breaststroke.
  • Finished 18th overall in the 2o0 medley relay (1:23.76), 21st in the 400 medley relay (3:05.93) and 22nd in the 200 breaststroke (1:53.32) at NCAA’s.
  • Was part of both the 200 and 400 medley relay teams that broke the school record at the 2022 NCAA Championships.
  • Bottelberghe also set two individual school records during the 2021-22 season. He set the school record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 51.61 at the ACC Championships and NCAA Championships. He set the school record in the 200 breaststroke at the Ohio State Invitational with a time of 1:52.44.
  • His time of 51.61 in the 100 Breaststroke at the ACC Championships earned him a silver medal as he finished second in the event.
  • He also swam in the A-Final of the 200 Breaststroke and finished fourth with a time of 1:52.61.
  • Finished first in the 1oo Breaststroke (52.61) and 100 Butterfly (48.39) against UIC.
  • Placed first in the 100 Breaststroke (52.97) and the 200 Breaststroke (1:55.63) at the Tim Welsh Classic.
  • Won the 200 Breaststroke finals at the Ohio State Invitational with the school record time of 1:52.44. He also placed second in the 100 Breaststroke finals with a time of 51.88.
  • Finished first in the 100 (54.58) and 200 Breaststroke (1:58.97) in the dual meet against Purdue.
  • Finished first in the 100 Breaststroke the season-opening meet against Cleveland State and Pitt with a time of 53.82.

As A Junior (2020-21)

  • Placed first in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Brendan Santana, Zachary Smith, and Cason Wilburn (1:27.97). Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (1:56.15). Placed first in the 100-yard Breaststroke (53.56). Placed first in the 400-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Charles Korndorffer, and Cason Wilburn (3:12.70) in the virtual meet vs. West Virginia (Nov. 6-7, 2020).
  • Placed first in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Zachary Smith, and Topher Stensby (1:28.06). Placed first in the 100-yard Breaststroke (53.35). Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (1:56.55). Placed eighth in the 200-yard IM (1:53.11) in the dual meet win vs. Cincinnati (Dec. 4, 2020).
  • Placed second in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Charles Korndorffer, and Topher Stensby (1:28.80). Placed second in the 100-yard Breaststroke (54.13). Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:00.29). Placed fifth in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with Luke Uttley, Zachary Smith, and Stephan Lukashev (3:07.94) in the dual meet vs. No. 13 Louisville (Jan. 9, 2021).
  • Placed third in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with Zachary Smith, Kaden Smesko, and Liam Hutchinson (1:22.63). Placed sixth in the 200-yard IM (1:50.97). Placed first in the 400-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Charles Korndorffer, and Cason Wilburn (3:11.46). Placed first in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Brendan Santana, Cason Wilburn, and Topher Stensby (1:26.23). Placed first in the 100-yard Breaststroke (53.96). Participated in the 200-yard Breaststroke (1:58.40) n the win over Missouri State in the Shamrock Invitational (Jan. 21-23, 2021).
  • Placed third in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with Luke Uttley, Connor Hinkes, and Sadler McKeen (1:21.10). Placed first in the 100-yard Breaststroke (53.78). Placed first in the 400-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitpatrick, Charles Korndorffer, and Cason Wilburn (3:12.82). Placed first in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Brendan Santana, Cason Wilburn, and Topher Stensby (1:26.57). Participated in the 50-yard Freestyle (20.77). Participated in the 100-yard Backstroke (53.68). Placed fourth in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with Liam Smith, Thacher Scannell, and Jack Fitzpatrick (3:03.79) in the dual meet win over West Virginia (Jan. 29-30, 2021).
  • Participated in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Brendan Santana, Cason Wilburn, and Topher Stensby (1:25.24). Placed twentieth in the 200-yard IM (1:46.72). Placed seventh in the 100-yard Breaststroke (52.39). Placed seventh in the 400-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Charles Korndorffer, and Cason Wilburn (3:10.82). Placed fourth in the 200-yard Breaststroke (1:52.87) in Notre Dame’s seventh-place finish at the ACC Championships (Feb. 24-27, 2021).
  • Placed 23rd in the 100 Breast and 17th in the 200 Breast at the NCAA Championships (March 24-27, 2021).

As A Sophomore (2019-20)

  • Qualified for the 2020 NCAA Championships in the 100 Breast, also would have swam the 200 Breast (Season halted due to Covid-19)
  • Placed second in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:00.43).  Placed second in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Jack Montesi, Zachary Smith, and Aaron Schultz (1:29.13).  Placed third in the 100-yard Breaststroke (55.72). Also participated in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with Brendan Santana, Nicholas Torres, and Will Barao (3:11.61) vs. Florida State.
  • Placed fourth in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:03.79).  Participated in the 200-yard Medley Relay with William Cumberland, Brendan Santana, and Topher Stensby (1:31.79) and the 100-yard Breaststroke (57.06) and the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with Matthew Limbacher, Rex Riley, and Will Barao (3:11.14) vs. Kentucky and IU.
  • Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:01.80).  Placed third in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Brendan Santana, and Topher Stensby (1:31.69).  Placed third in the 100-yard Breaststroke (56.88). Participated in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with Brendan Santana, Will Barao, and Luke Thornbrue (3:12.57) vs. Purdue.
  • Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:00.00).  Placed second in the 100-yard Breaststroke (55.60).  Placed third in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Jack Fitzpatrick, Brendan Santana, and Topher Stensby (1:31.54) vs. Louisville.

  • Participated in the 400-yard Medley Relay with Jack Montesi, Zachary Smith, and Aaron Schultz (3:13.88). Participated in the 200-yard IM (1:53.02). Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (1:58.97) in the win against Northwestern.
  • Placed first in the 100-yard Breaststroke (54.14).  Placed first in the 200-yard Breaststroke (1:56.78).  Placed first in the 400-yard Medley Relay with Jack Montesi, Zachary Smith, and Aaron Schultz (3:12.57).  Participated in the 200-yard Medley Relay with Brendan Santana, Cason Wilburn, and Topher Stensby (1:29.13).  Participated in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with Rex Riley, Jack Montesi, and Marci Barta (1:23.34).  Participated in the 200-yard IM (1:53.08) in the Shamrock Invitational.
